لان نفس الاختصارين ليهم مدلول في علم الاستشعار عن بعد والصر الفضائية

أولا: TM هي اختصار لمسقط مركاتور المستعرض وتم عمل نظام إحداثيات مسقط (متري) إعتمادا علي هذا المسقط وأسموه UTM اي إختصارا نظام احداثيات مركاتور المستعرض العالمي Universal Transverse Mercator (وهو يخص العالم كله )
ثانيا: ETM هي إختصار لنظام الاحداثيات المصرية Egyptian Transverse Mercator والمستخدم فيها المسقط السابق ذكره
وللعلم (المسقط هو أسلوب أو طريقة لتحويل مجسم الأرض3D إلي خريطة أو سطح مستو2D )
