All Romanowsky stain contains2 main components:
1. Eosin Y (acidic component) carry – ve charge:
It stains the basic structure of the cell a pink colour.
2. Azure B (basic component) carry + ve charge:
It stains the acidic structure of the cell a blue to deep purple colour.
