a Major Fault or Bug , in when the system would behave in wrong way , not giving the expected outcome. It could be blocking the user performing a certain transaction , or not following the proper process. 

While a minor fault, would be something related to layout , or an issue that does not affect that main functionality of the system. The users can continue working normally till the issue is fixed.
