How do you manage people with indifferent behavior in critical situation and if you have only limited time?

For once you may have to request an indifferent person for help in a critical situation especially with limited time.  If there is no change and no help coming you may get help from other helpful people to get over this particular crisis.  Once you have experienced such behavior it would be wise to plan the removal of such a person gradually, or abruptly so that other people with similar indifferent attitude get the message.  One bad apple is usually enough to spoil the whole basket.
