Be calm and cool. Self control is a must.  Politely but firmly Point out the behaviour in question was inappropriate. In return do not be aggressive or it will exacerbate the situation. Now you have drawn the line of that behaviour was not acceptable. Ask them why did that happen? Try and find ways to resolve the issue. If person continues to be that ways, then your only option is try and avoid them as much as possible, perhaps follow the internal company reporting code.

Do not over think the situation as this will make you remain professional at all times.

Step One -  Remain calm. DO not react or respond

Step Two -  Once the manager is in a calm mood, go back to him/her and explain the situation

I think the best action  to take is staying calm; regardless of the position of the person who shouted on you. Remain calm and discuses the situation with person later in a suitable time and place. If the situations happened again, follow the organization protocol  in reporting such incidents immediately.

Many thanks for all

In fact the common between all answer is "Be calm & act in Professional way"

Firstly listen to what the person is saying to you. Sort of block the rude words out. Secondly calm down and only then re-think the situation.10-1 you needed to hear this because you were not listening in the first place and or you did something that was not to the satisfaction of your manager. So pick up your socks.

Most managers or leaders reacts out of frustration or stress. I dont think a person will verbally attack you for no reason. In most cases a manager will call u back and appologize if he feels that he was wrong, but lol they are not usually wrong.

Some managers think that their subordinates are jerks & subordinates think that their managers are jerks it common in every firm. But in reality they both are incorrect, mistakes happens with everyone either its manager or employee. Being calm is the best option whether its manager or yours mistake. If he/she is always rude with you shout on every single thing then here is time take stand and let him/her know that you’re employee not a slave.
