ISM code stands for International Safety Management Code:

 

For some companies it’s a requirement to comply with for the classification of the vessels.

 

 

 

But its main purpose is to define the company safety plans, processes and policies in managing safety. No ISM manual is similar to other because it depend on the company structure and people roles based on the ships activities and the nature of hazards expected (Safety, security or environmental).

 

All employees should be aware of the company ISM manual and comply with it from smallest employee to the highest level of personal (CEO, Chairman or owner)
