Parameters that effect system integration can vary greatly depending on the industry or technology. Some key parameters would be current business process, for example when integrating a new ERP solution into an organization it is recommended that either the organization restructure to work the way the ERP system works or to have the ERP system modified to work the way the organization works. Another example would be integrating new untested technology into an organization that cannot have down time during production hours. A QA/test environment must be utilized to test the system against current production configurations/data to ensure that the system will integrate well with current environment.
