It is better to take a break when you need a break, rather than wait for your colleague to get free to join you for a break,

Taking a break alone & when you need it makes you feel relaxed & also helps you to get back to work on time,

(your colleague can always cover you when you are not around & vice versa)

This is where TEAM WORK comes to play. When employees work as a team such issues do not come up as big. Understand and cooperate with your colleagues and the work will not suffer and everyone will be happy.

I believe this not a big issue once happened a one or two times A year

but let say it its happened to you Usually the reaction should not be the same

Definitely I would have to co operate  and wait till my colleague comes back. However, the company should not suffer!
