using: Photoshop save for web: you can control # of colors from JPG, GIF and PNG format

Hi,

There is a option in Photoshop while reducing the size of50% image.Go to image panel and view image size and u will get the Image Size dialog box.And reduced the size according to your requirement and select the option=> Bicubic Sharper (Best for Reduction)

You can change the extension, if it's png try the jpg it'll reduce the size of the img

The best way even if you don't know photoshop knowledge, open image to 'PAINT' then press Ctrl = W, then give percentage50%. Then save image. You will see big deference in image size.

The Way to do it in Photoshop is By Save for Web 

And the Options you can choose to reduce the file size are 

 

Jpeg are as follows :

      ---  You can Reduce the quality of image 

      ---  You can also uncheck the option for Progressive.

             (Not Recommended if you want to load full image at once.)

      --- Thirdly you can use online websites. The best i suggest is www.jpegmini.com

           It reduces your image to an greater extent without loosing quality.

 

PNG are as follows :

         ---  Same Steps in Photoshop as in Jpeg 

         ---  Online Website i Recommend is www.tinypng.org

Very simple, 

 

If you have more than100 + pictures then do the following commands. 

 

Open Adobe Photoshop then open your image. 

 

Go to Windows top of the windows then select Actions or press Alt+F9 from keyboard. 

 

Click on create new action / give action name / and press Record. 

 

After that, immediately go to image and then image size and set the width1000 and press OK

 

Click on File and then Save and immediately close the picture windows (Press Ctrl + F4) 

 

After that Stop the Action command from Action windows. 

 

Go to File and Select Automate / Batch 

 

Click Choose Button and select the picture folder 

 

and press OK

 

The photoshop will start reducing all your pictures from the folder. 

 

After when it's done you can see your picture folder size ....

Reducing size of an image never reduce of quality, in fact the pixel per inch increase if the size is reduced.
