Thank you so much Sir.

Asian Depository Receipt should be a bank certificate issued in more than one country of Asia for shares in a foreign company. The shares are held by a foreign branch of an international bank in Asia.

Some of the most actively traded securities across the globe are traded in DR form. DRs are the accepted mechanism for efficiently facilitating cross-border transactions and the number of DR programs continues to grow. There are now more than3,700 programs available to investors, representing issuers from81 countries and more than3,300 institutions invest almost $700 billion in DRs globally.

DRs are equity securities that trade in an investors’ home market and represent an underlying security in the issuers’ home market.

Singapore Depositary Receipts (SDRs) are equivalent to DRs and can be used to list an overseas issuers’ equity on SGX’s Mainboard or Catalist.

Similarly, there are Indian Deposit Receipts & Japanese Deposit Receipts used to list an overseas issuers’ equity on Indian & Japanese exchanges respectively.

The DRs listed on Asian Exchanges may be loosely called Asian Depository Receipts.
