Yes sir, developing that extra edge or we call it in marketing ( competitive advantage ) can be through the product  itself,or the extra dimension of  the product which accompanies sales process , any way , there is fundamental when you creating an advantage to gain consumers or customers, which is based on the following : Must be not available for other (new) .

 Satisfy the desires and needs of customers

There is no fix formula or steps so that we apply or follow and shall start to get result. Its a long process which get developed by experienced gained and everyone has its own way.

What about encouraging your existing customer to become indirect resellers for you by introducing special programs, where existing customer get a reward or a bonus when they introduce a new customer to the company.

the first is great customer care, treat all ur existing customers, with respect,, listen to all their complaints, and sort them, because, its going to be the same customers that say a good word for you, about your business to others, because great customer care, is the best tool for the positive word of mouth. about developing that extra edge, u need to have products or services, that are on demand, and also the existing customers, love them, then be sure, the new ones, will keep flowing in, some will come frm word of mouth, others, curiosity, to know what is special about that given product or service.
