If you ask me, have been a technical interviewer for a long time, it is PRESENTATION. The way you present yourself to interviewer, its gonna make or break things for you. Every candidate knows (post interview) that how did he performed.

The other part of story is, there are not much good interviewers available. People need special trainings to come up to the level where they can keep interview at informal as well as professional level. One must not google the "25 questions to kill a Java developer in interview". Organizations must understand that every technical guy can not be a manager and similarly everyone can not be a technical interviewer either. It needs speech skills, you have to get candidate talking in very open and informative manner. You have to take a glance inside the persona.

Candidate can have good interpersonal skills but lower competency against a given job and another candidate might be possessing excellent technical skills but poor presentation skills. Guess in general not-so-perfect-world of ours, who would get a job? The first one.

So in nutshell, while you prepare yourself with ammunition of technical skills, you must learn how to present yourself. You should list down10 great words those describe you,5 key traits those describe yourself at work,3 key technical skills,2 excellent projects and1 aim of getting hired. You have to pierce through the interviewer's mind and break his realm about technology. In plain words, it is equivalent to selling a vaccum cleaner in desert.

Sell yourself well. Rest I can be reached on skype to book sessions on grooming yourself for a great interview. And dont mind if I say I charge a little bit when you get selected.
