Issues in the workplace is really an un-avoidable problem and sometimes even if the issue is so small it grows rapidly when left un-resolved. Believe it or not staying positive is not easy especially when each person has their own beliefs on what they believe is right and wrong. However based on my experiences a manager or lets say a supervisor need to put an extra effort to know their people, learn how their people accepts positive critcism and learn to weigh the peronality of their subordinates. If issues arise in the workplace guide the employees on the process of resolving issues, if the issues need to further investigate to know where the issues started then do it, learn to weigh things accordingly do not take one side only, always listen to both sides so the employee would know that youre doing your part to help resolving the issues and not worsen them. The key is OPEN COMMUNICATION, when open communication is observed in the company whatever work related issue is for sure it will resolved. Ask your chain of command if they have any suggestions on how to improve the process of resolving work related issues and brainstorm on the given suggestions so the process will be enhanced and at the same time it will save both of the Managements and HR time to resolve the issues.

It is a tricky situation that managers are to handle when it comes to solving employees related issues. First listen to all the parties involved with unbiased body gestures. Analyse the issue and identify whether any organisational interests are involved and if so, find a solution focussing in the interest of organisation. If not, find a solution within the framework of organisational rules and procedures and convince the parties they have to behave within those accepted practices.

By proper channelizing the matter and communication.
