Training sessions are more needed in my opinion in the following posts or sectors:

Technical departments: since there is always a flow of new products, techniques, technologies. so employees will be every now and then having sessions in different countries and even have exams by these companies and certificates. Major companies lik hp, cisco, microsoft...focus on training employees.

Accounting department:

Middle and high management.

Sales department.

While traditional jobs like call center, junior administration, archiving don't need training since their role is somehow limited and not that complicated. But this does not forbid to have workshops for these employees to know their capabilities and to show them that they are essential part of the company. This helps them stay motivated.
