Which software is more useful, Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator? And why?

i have used both + freehand. it is not about tool; it is about skills of designers to handle/understand the tool features.

Adobe Illustrator because it is more popular, powerful, flexible, innovative. Corel Draw is old and not compatible with Adobe Suite like Illustrator as it is one of the family.

Indeed illustrator, more powerful and has always updated with designing needs plus its mor compatable with other programs

Ofcourse Adobe Illustrator because it contains many more options compare to that of Coreldraw.

As Illustrator is a part of Adobe suite which includes photoshop, dreamviewer, flash etc and many are familiar to these softwares compare to corel paint etc which are part of coreldraw.

this depends on what type of graphic you want to achieve

Coral Draw is obsolete - it's like a dinosaur of software and is not designed to work for flat iconography and vectors which is most popular for infographics today.

I think both Illustrator and CorelDraw are great applications and both have almost similar set of utilties inside for creating drawings and Illustrations. Illustrator is popular throught the world for vector graphics, however CorelDraw is famous in some places like Pakistan, where more people are comfortable with it more than Illustrator.

Both are vector graphics softwares. But Adobe Illustrator has its unique features than Corel. So if you are Corel user move a head with Illustrator too. Its good to have the knowledge of both.
