for the medium complex task you can chose the siemens logo logic module which have a wide library and on unit programming option and can be purchased with a text display (hmi ) and the programming languages are available FBD & LAD .

I prefer Omron PLC for ladder logic configurations. Otherwise Stardom & Fast/Tools provided by YOKOGAWA has wide variety of field networking for system maintenance.

Siemens S7300 series

My option is Siemens S7-1200 , compact controller with the following features

  • Built-in PROFINET
  • High-speed I/O capable of motion control, on board analog inputs to minimize space requirements and the need for additional I/O,2 pulse generators for pulse-train and pulse-width applications and up to6 high-speed counters
  •   On-board I/O points built into the CPU modules provide from6 to14 input points and from4 to10 output points.
  • Signal modules for DC, relay, or analog I/O expand the number of I/O points, and innovative signal boards snap onto the front of the CPU to provide additional I/O

Advantages - Inbuilt blocks for Motion control ( Servo applications) & PID control.

Integrated Profinet interface.

Limitation -Programming using New Software TIA portal ( TIA V11 onwards)

If u are looking for low price then siemens are best ..but considering easy automation u can go for triconix or Allen bradley systems.

with no compromise on cost....Allen Bradly is the best choice for machine automation.Bca it provides user friendly software Rslogix5000 in ladder /FBD.

but Managing Cost...Siemens is preferable.
