Is it possible to use visual basic instead of PLC HMI . if we can we can reduce the coat of the project?

yes it is possible to replace the plc & HMI with a computer software

we can use opc sever to connect with plc and  but there are alot of problem will face you  i work  to do this project .

yes it is possible to replace the plc & HMI with a computer software. Just make sure that:

- The PC is heavy duty (protected against dust & water) with protection of IP67 and above.

- The OS is windows embedded in order to have a reliable system.

- A good software developer to optimise the program.

- A fast slave IO to execute each command of the PC under10ms.
