Who is ultimately responsible for quality management on the project?

Although each person working on the project should check their own work as part of any project, the project manager ultimately has the responsibility for quality on the project as a whole.

Project Manager or Project Director who is incharge of the Project is ultimately responsible for the Quality management of the Project. After Project Manager/Project Director it is Quality Manager who is responsible. After that all employee are responsible. As per ISO9001:2008 Quality is resposibility of everybody.

The project manager is the main responsible for  quality depending on the quality manager who send the reports to project manager  of examinations and testing of origin for all materials used in the project as well as the quality of all work planned for the project

Ultimate responisbility is Project Manager.  QAQC Manager is responsibile for implementing Quality standards as requried in conjection with the Project Manager, who must overlook all the Safety/Quality aspects.

The quality of the project is most demanding thing in every project and of course all stakeholders like customers, project directors, contractors,investors, government bodies and project management team etc .are responsible for it but the accountable person for whole thing is Project Manager because he/she has the total authority and capacity in every project which he/she is leading.
