What characteristics does your company look for when hiring young engineers?

To be honest, My current employer only looks for people who are willing to work in the least salary irrespective of talent, experience and academic credentials. However, not all companies are the same. A more professional organisation looks for confident and self motivated people who can take the organisation to the next level in the shortest span of time. Other things that play an equally important role are communication, presentation, intelligence, creativity, activeness and knowledge. When young engineers are applying for a job, they essentially must do some home work before sitting for an interview. They must acquire most of the information known about that company through internet and other professional sites to create an excellent first impression. They must just be themselves and not try to mimic some other personality. They must emplasize on their own skill sets and face the interview with confidence.

Hello Salma , I personally think "being self initiative and willing to learn, the hard and easy way alike" is the most crucial thing I personally look for in a new engineer.

Good luck
