Absolutely, Public Relations keep the firm well connected with their potential and current consumers  hence in the case of building a brand name there is always the strong human link. This in turn helps firms improve two way communication especially during negative implications for the brand thus improving brand image. Additionally PR is used to further learn from consumers about "What they want", gather research data for improvement or even give the consumers greater understanding of the brand with a human touch. It is no doubt PR helps in the brand building exercise and that is why it is always part of a marketing strategy.
