For Sure as An Assumptions Document is simply a collection of all key information, stored in one document, and submitted for approval so without it we cant achive goals

Yes assumptions are very important, without assumptions we cannot find out the right pathways for a work.

If we go for a assumption than only we can brain strom about the possible results and the most important example I would like to mention is that ALL THE SPACE PROGRAMES ARE BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS of previous experiences.

Assumtions management is part of risk management and it must be documented to make the required qualitative and quantitative analysis for them.

Yes because Assumptions and constraints show up frequently on our projects. Successful project managers and business analysts keep an eye out for the assumptions and constraints present on their projects.  After all, they can impact your project across a number of variables, including your project requirements and your resulting solution.  Giving the risks that assumptions and constraints can add to your project, I think it’s worth taking a closer look at what they are and how we should identify and manage them.

During the project scoping workshop - assumptions will come up. This must be added to your project charter.

Put it in along with inclusions, exclusions and constraints.  Based on these you will have your risk analysis basically drawn up.

Assumptions are made at all stages of Project Planning like :

 -  Estimation for determining the Schedule & Cost.

 -  Identification of Risks & Risk Response strategies

 -  Contingencies to be taken into account to arrive at the Budget.

As Project Plans are always documented, it is also required to document the basis, source of data, assumptions etc. and the logical reasoning for calculating the Project Baselines like Scope, Time, Cost etc.
