Hi Dana, The main aim of the progress report is to communicate the project’s progress whether to a client or to the top management, so to make it as easy as it can be for you to write a progress report you may do the following steps: A.Before you start writing the report you need to:1) Decide on which part of the project you need to include in your report.2) Collect the related statistics and figure if it’s required to be included in the report.
B.After that, in your report you should highlight the following:1) Background/brief about the project.2) Defining the scope or the timeline for each stage.3) The percentage of the completed work.4) The percentage of the remaining work.5) Highlight the problems if there are any.6) If you delayed in delivering the task on time provide an evidence that will support your situation.7) Provide them with the next steps and what’s expected.8) Agree on the next progress report or if it’s in a regular intervals.
And finally, stay always positive and show them that you can do it :) I hope my answer will help you.
Goodluck.
Mahmoud.
