Net profit is company's total expense from total revenue, thus showing what the company has earned (or lost) in a given financial period of time (usually one year).

Controlled profit is the profit made by a division after deducting only those expenses that can be controlled by the divisional manager and ignoring those expenses that are outside the divisional manager’s control.
