Entamoeba coli cyst are often confused with Entamoeba histolytica cysts. The major difference lies in the fact that E.coli cysts have up to8 nuclei while E.histolytica cyst have only up to4. Good use of microscope fine adjustment is usually needed to spot the other nuclei in E.coli.
