Most companies prefer only the marks and Certificates obtained rather than looking at the persons real talent. Why is it so? What will be a solution?

If it keeps continuing like this then my question is where will the talented people with less GPA goes? Is it forbidden for those people to try for a good placement where the employees seeks the same skills as these people have and yet expect a very good mark? Does percentage alone is going to judge the knowledge of a person? I think this is also one among the reason for the talented people to use their knowledge in a bad way for an earning. Am I wrong?

hello

Because most companies rely on the expertise nor discover the talents of its employees only through experience And relies on certificates symbol proves that this employee qualified for the job only

That is not the right way, Marks and Certificates are only to beat competition, Just because a guy is gold medalist, he can handle everything.

Apart from his education, a guy should be experienced to handle a particular situation, it is being acquired over a period of time.

1- Large number of applicants. 2- a talent acquisition team who faces large turn over rates & tight hiring cycle. 3- The discrepancies or unclear roles discribed in CVs. 4- the rating & screening systems used to evaluate CVs by keywords. All that drives the talent acquisition process twards very secific criteria including very specific grades or certificates to narrow down the risk of incompetency. Is it right? In my opinion yes, but not justice & companies pay cost of lost opportunities by hiring for credentials rather than attitude & skills.

It depends where you are, in Europe a candidate with excellent qualification will not be preferred over a candidate who has reasonable education qualification and some sort of work experience. A candidate with only good education qualification and no experience are dimmed to be lazy as I read in few online magazines.

Yes, this should be considered but should never be the only criterion.

In selection interviews most interviewers look in the past of the candidate rather than the potential in the future.

It takes a great wisdom on the part of the interviewer to appreciate that even past mistakes are great to learn from for the future.
