About Us:

Markaz is on the mission to supercharge the rails of e-commerce for the common man in Pakistan. We want to empower the Pakistani middle class, with a special focus on women who are currently not part of the Pakistani financial ecosystem, and help establish hundreds of thousands of new online entrepreneurs in the coming years. We enable anyone in Pakistan to start their online business with zero investment from the comfort of their home and make money by selling products through different social media channels like WhatsApp and Facebook. All they have to do is download the Markaz app, get access to 1,000s of products, share them on their social media with a profit margin and get orders. Markaz will take care of everything else: delivery, payments, customer experience and profit dissemination.

Job Overview:

As a Software Engineer - QA you will be working on developing test cases for mobile/web applications and backend to roll out high quality applications with a focus on minimizing manual effort by focusing on automation.

Responsibilities:

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Performance testing regularly to ensure system scalability and bottlenecks
  
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• 1 - 3 years of manual and automated testing experience in QA Engineering role
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Preferred)
  
• Understanding of SQL and scripting
  
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
•  Strong willingness to get things done
