What you need to know about the role-
This role will be primarily responsible to support the analytical needs of the Finance team, including building vendor billing reconciliation models, monthly TE dashboard, management reporting, and predictive modeling for PayPal Inc global transaction expense metrics across different entities.

The Payments FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) team team supports transaction expense forecast and analysis for total Paypal. The Payments FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) team is a key partner and enabler of the Payments & Finance organizations. The team is responsible for helping the partners meet business objectives and KPI goals by providing outstanding finance support and business insights.

Your way to impact:
- This role will work closely with business partners to support month end close and require both high technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- This role will help us with automation and forecast of transaction expenses.
Your day to day:
- Own forecasting model maintenance and making continuous improvements. Create dashboards for easy consumption of trends and to identify anomalies.
- Regularly partner with Finance team to do opportunity mining to optimize transaction expenses modeling, trend analysis and to automate invoice reconciliation process.
- Manage reconciliation models between vendor charge and business trends to identify potential billing issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators, highlight trend changes, and identify potential risks before they manifest and effectively communicate findings to finance teams.
- Constantly and rigorously ideate with the focus on reducing Transaction Expense for PayPal.
- Help with month end close, accrual estimates and support Controllership team requests.
- Analyze expense trends & their drivers, compare with targets, and present the analysis to leadership.
- Ensure accuracy of key operating metrics before they are released both internally and externally.
What do you need to bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative discipline.
- 4-7 years of prior experience in Analytics field in a high growth, global company preferably in payments, financial services, or internet-based sectors
- Should be comfortable with financial modeling and working with large amounts of data/databases.
- Experience with SQL, Python. Experience working with and structuring data warehouses (i.e., BigQuery)
- Deep analytical skills, strong out-of-the-box thinking, curiosity, and strong business intuition; can connect the dots between disparate data sources to drive insight.
- Prior experience with financial planning and reporting systems (e.g. Hyperion, Essbase, Tableau, QlikView) is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, cross functional team environment setting
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
