Networking, physically or virtually, is extremely important. How can you do it?

Not only does networking increase your odds of landing a job but it also helps bring you opportunities. Smart networking contributes to your personal success. Networking can be physical -i.e. interacting in-person with people, or virtual through cyberspace: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, etc. The question is: How can you network smartly?

The relation should go beyond acquaintance, only then would it be helpful, either physical or virtual. This can be achieved by contacting people at regular intervals of time say at least once in a month, irrespective of any favour from them. Else the numbers would only increase, worthless though.
