How to work with people who have been working past ten years, plays politics and never allow you to come forward?

What do you mean by they don't "allow" you ?? this a very disfunctional work environment. You should really attempt taking matters into your own hands, be a shark, be aggressive and go get what you want. Don't let people "allow" or forbid you from doing something that you think is right, and moving forward is definitely an integral part of career development. It is simply your right. Good luck!
