How can you acheive sales target and bench mark?

Targets can be acheived by getting more and more leads and filtering them in each process to lead to final stage of getting Purchase order and bench marking would be done through comparing it with best peformance by any individual or team and how we stand in it.As sometimes people exceed targets and thats a new bench mark set.
