Which is a better car company BMW, Audi or Mercedes? I have given here German companies as they are bigger brands.

For ne it is BMW based on a personal experience.

In my opinion, it is based on their world wide presence, perceived quality and trust.

This I think is purely down to ones own perspective. My personal preferance is Audi, but I have always had an affinity to the VW Group and the style of Audi really appeals to me. So I choose them.

From a technical viewpoint I feel that Audi combines power, precision and class in a balanced and quality build, all their cars ar all-wheel drive, acousticaly tested  and well tuned.

Mercedes to me is all about straight line power and high class cruizing.

BMW is precise, and fast with less focus on styling.

Again this is a personal view and depends on user experience, perception and even culture. Each brand has such a massive stigma attached to it its difficult to seperate the product from the organisation.

How do you define better here? Like most of the people have already mentioned, its a matter of individual perspective. Your question is very narow, but the answe can be from a wide perspective.

If you take a lot at it from a market perspective, the brands that you stated are all European manufacturers, and are hard to compare, because they almost have same market targets. From the above stated, Mercedes has the most quality linked to the name itself, and it is positioned within premium brand list. Audi is more oriented towards middle working class and upper middle working class, which targets more population in general, BMW is in between those two, with a variety of models suited for younger and more sport oriented group. 

All in all, the quality of these brands can be discussed for days, but i will try to give an illustrative example:

Usually,in most cases,

1. If a person comes to purchase an AUDI, it is going to be interested in price, engine performance, type of engine, fuel consumption, equipment and all different attributes of the car itself.

2. If a person comes to purchase a BMW , it is going to be interested in fuel consumption, spare parts prices, maintenance price and all other relevant figures that go with the maintenance of the car, since BMW is knows for being one of the most expensive cars after you actually bought it.

3. If a person comes to buy a MERCEDES, it just points out the car he likes. No questions added.
