How can you teach your students some strategies for self vocabulary acquisition?

By reading more, watching movies and listening to songs 

Alongside clear presentaion, practice and performance/ production guided lessons I'd love to advocate diary entries, a variety of level appropriate reading and audio experiences. 

Vocabulary from at least the latter two can be cherished and as a teacher one can encourage contextulisation and an awareness of parts of speech.
