Do you find email marketing effective? How would you define whether your email marketing campaign is effective or not?

Direct marketing through email is most successful in the business world. There is no denying that it has had an increasing impact on individualized promoting strategies as the tides have changed.

 

Your campaign's success or failure may be evaluated in relation to the goals you set out to accomplish. There are many different types of campaigns that businesses may run, from simple exposure where the only expectation is no reaction to more targeted advertising where the goal is to get a particular proportion of people to respond. That's why it's hard to establish a universal standard for success. It's impossible to succeed without first deciding what you want to achieve.

E-mail marketing is predominantly more effective in the corporate sector. however, with shifts in trends, its effects on personalized promotional tactics have gained more momentum and shouldn't be overruled.

As for how to gauge the success or effectiveness of your campaign... this depends on expectations and targets that were to be achieved by the campaign. Campaigns of this sort can range from exposure where the firms only expectations could be no backlash to promotion wherein they would like to attain a certain percentage of response. As such it is improbable to set a general parameter of success. The only plausible way is to set a goal beforehand.
