What is the best software for managing Contract/Grant funded research?

For Beginners : MS Project

 For Expert : Primavera

You can use any software Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. Basically for a Grant funded project your sponsor will be intetresed in following:

1. Activities Summary on Gantt Chart.

2. Monthly Cash flow requirement.

Once your project is approved you have to update these charts on weekly or monthly basis as per the requirement of the funding agency.

If you are a beginner, I would recommend using Microsoft project. It has got excellent templates for presenting your proposal in attractive Gantt. Charts which are essentially required for approval and monitoring
