Some global companies do put more importance now on relevant experience over educational attainment.

A tendency towards academic achievement can hold powerful clues into how a new hire will perform in the workplace – the desire to excel in a learning environment often extends seamlessly to the workforce.

Although it’s easy to be seduced by dazzling qualifications, don’t let a degree from an elite institution prevent you from looking at the bigger picture.

When assessing a highly qualified candidate, seek out evidence of internships, work experience, projects and extracurricular achievements – factors that signal initiative, people skills and an aptitude for achievement that isn’t limited to textbooks .

Candidates that have amassed experience in a relevant position are generally well versed in industry issues, market pressures and customer demands .

Work experience might be a powerful asset, but it’s also important that candidates possess the basic skills to do the job. Ensure that unqualified candidates boast a high level of literacy and numeracy, strong communication skills and a body of work that testifies to their professional wins.

While there’s no exact formula for securing new hires, the best candidates generally combine the best of both worlds.

I can consider experience as it is the actual and recent activities where you can continuously apply, modify and learn how to make things effective as required.

Base on my opinion, for me it’s the experience. Before, most of the companies requires the level of education, but as the time goes by, they consider most the experience of individual. Because we can see their real attitude and qualifications. Experience that can make them excel in their work. Some people has no capacity to go to school because of financial problems, but everyone is given a chance to prove their skills base on experience they have. Yes,education is important but without proper experience and without a good attitude after education is useless.

This basically depends on the position a person is applying for. For example, if it is a clerical job where it is all about the physical works like filing papers, delivering packages / letters, etc. the employer should always look for experience. where as, if the work is executive level like handling customers, computer related activities, etc. the level of education matters.

The company can also train its employees by organising time to time training programs to keep them updated with new systems and working methods.

Thank you for the invitation.

Both are needed as this serves as a background when needs are to be of a specialised nature and it can be met as the education is a silver line to achieve this.  I say this because experience and education are levels to be questioned and achieved in any company for its success.  a good education serves one for a life time and experience makes the difference as it teaches others as a role model in the process.

As for my own point of view I believe both are very important to be considered when hiring employee The know how, know what and know why are the basics requirements for any employee to be employed. We can't say experience is more important than the level of education or visa varsa Both are important, both complete each others.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? One plays into the other. There is a lot to be said for experience, but you have to have an education to get the experience.

Experience is the best teacher. So I go with experience. You might be the smartest person in class but ther real world is not a classroom setting. You will be exposed to different situations, different people, culture and different mistakes. You will be out of your comfort zone and will face challenges far more difficult than a thesis or exam. Experience will teach you how to adapt, how to act, how to adjust and it will allow you to improve yourself emotionally, mentally and profesionally.

You should consider both the experience and level of education. one can have experience and can do the job perfectly. and one can have good level of education and can not perform the duties properly.

In my view, it's just the attitude.

Experience and education don't teach how to solve a challenge. But the right attitude would solve any challenges, irrespective of whether there is a ready solution exists or not!
