Let me try to answer this,
UI is for User Interface. So if a someone called as UI designer that means that he or she design the interface looks from the buttons, scroll bars anything that we see in the look of an apps.
As for UX is for User Experience / Xperience. So, after the design of the looks of an apps is finished then someone that called as an UX designer should be thinking that he/her tasks is to make sure the design look also have a good function and make end user having an engaging experience. How it make the user of an app is easy understand all of its function and nevertheless make an apps fun/engaging to operates.
