By reading and learning remotely using videos or lessons and friction by dealing with programs constantly to get to know all the programs in the advantages and disadvantages and also know the highways that provide time and effort

He can lookup to many lessons on YouTube about it from the professionals on that field, also taking online courses that are available for free or payed from the internet. That will help him a lot.

He/she can enroll for training center where he/she can improve or strengthen the using of the program like 3d max and auto-cad if the employeer is not providing that kind of training.
