In what ways does odysseus develop as a character during the narrative course?

Throughout the Odyssey, Odysseus evolves from being a husband to being a father, and from being the king of Ithaca to a warrior who fought the Trojans. Some might also argue that by the end of the epic, Odysseus also becomes less proud and more patient.
