In your opinion, do you think a cure for this order would be beneficial for humanity? Taking into considerations that curing it will eliminate a lot of potential artistic brilliant works!!

Your question is very smart.
You are totally right about the fact that being genius is connected most of times with a touch of 'insanity'.
In my point of view, I am against 'curing' those people in the term of giving them a medical treatment.
As a psychologist, I prefer that they follow a therapeutic treatment with a Psychotherapist, it is my opinion about all kind of psychological disorders, not only the bipolar one. We should search for the reason, better than curing the behavior. ( I know that Psychiatrists will hate me now lol)
There is an exceptional case where we SHOULD prescribe a medication treatment: only when the patient is aggressive, so he could hurt himself or others. Otherwise, a psychotherapy, plus a support from his loved one, will help him to understand why he has this bipolar disorder, or any other neurosis disorder, and he still fill our world with his talents :)
