In what should we spend more effort, planning or implementation?

It is a good question based on my long experience  i think we have to give each stage a different weight according to size of project some needs more time for  planning on other hand implementation takes more time .

In planing session we need more effort. Because if plan is perfect than all of other must be perfect.

Both equally important you can plan for a perfect system and fail in implementing it

As Mr Ashraf Said., my opinion also the same and ie we should spend more time on plannuing only., if the plain is perfect and implimentation we go eazzzzzy.

Depends on which model of SDLC you are following.

If iterative model the spending should be equal.
