Cash as being the most liquid among all assets is the most useful way in paying any transaction such as purchase, acquisition or alike ... thus holding a cash is the best way to settle transaction specially if cash can be only payment mode require to settle a transaction. Example are the Petty cash to pay petty expenses rather than issuing a cheque
