How FDD ( fixed day dispatch) help in optimize the freight cost of secondary distribution?

To optimize the secondary distribution cost  and improve the service level as well. FDD technique is applied. In this technique customer is serviced on a particular day i.e fixed day. This help to bring the discipline in order placement and fulfillment process.

If day is not fixed then customer place the order any day and expect the service immediately. In that process, due to partial load movement, freight cost goes very high.
