How can you combine multiple photographic shots in Photoshop without the aid of Lightroom?

Good question! I am not an expert in this field but try to get views of my answers.

I think tone adjustment will play a vital role in the mixing but I do not think how good photoshop can preserve the original colors.

I believe plug-ins will play a role in this adjustment because handling light is not much advance in photoshop and can distort the shoots.
