What is the difference between supply chain, logistics & shipping?

Supply chain starts with supply planning and includes, procurement ( bidding, bid evaluation, contracting, inspection and payment ) logistics( receiving, warehousing, dispatching to end users) and shipping (documentation for import and export, custom clearance and  insurance claim).

So, supply chain is series of activities as mentioned above  which includes logistics and shipping

Shipment is when the product is been shipped. logistics is the process of movement of products from a place to another which apparently involved shipment. While supply chain the overall end to end manufacturing process from production, warehousing , shipment and to the consumers.

The supply chain goes hand in hand with the logistics. Together, they make sure to deliver the goods and services to the customer on the right time.

Logistics & Shipping are the single part of Supply Chain. Where supply chain is whole process from order collection to delivering finished products to the customers.

Shipping is one of the functions in Logistics, Logistics is one of the functions in Supply chain. The main two functions of Supply chain are Procurement and Logistics.
