What is the difference between risk tolerance and risk avoidance?

Risk tolerance or risk appetite is the margin of loss accepted by the entity with the existing risk controls, this might be because cost of of higher risk control standards is costly more than expected loss.

Risk avoidance is the effort carried out by the entity to avoid identified risk.
