Should market survey be completed in the Portfolio Management ?

I do not see why not: in my opinion, the more information I have about the overall market situation and those specific market sectors to which my assets belong, the better my portfolio's performance will be. There are lots of 'unmandatory' ways to gather market information, including the financial intelligence channels, but, again, for the winning performance the manager better be creative in finding that accurate, first-source info.
