This is a very broad question. A teacher has to have diverse characteristics, such as knowledge and the ability to pass it on to others, communication skills, patience and capability to adjust his lesson according to his students' age, culture and knowledge. In other words, a teacher is a multi task person , who should be continuously evolving.
For me a teacher is a person who loves his job , his students, has a sense of humer, sense of responsability, enjoing what is right avoiding what is wrong, who has the spirit of learning and criticising,
