Is it better to treat the packaging costs for a product as a selling cost or as a manufacturing cost ?

Based on the product features If the package cost is essential for presentation of product these cost is manufacture and vice versa

it depends if the packaging cost is a important part for the product it will be manufacturing cost , if its not it will be selling exp

 

it is better to treat packaging as selling cost not as manufacturing cost.because packging is only for the selling not for manufacturing.

it depends upon the usage- if the product asthetics is improved/or part of the product by using packing then under mfg cost, else if it is used for shipping and merchandising only then under selling exp.

it can be either way, but i believe it should be in selling cost because packaging is a part of marketing and promotion so it should be selling cost

Packaging costs is part of cost of production and can also be seen as manufacturing cost.

Its better to treat it as Selling Costs

we should treat the packaging cost as selling cost because the product has been produced now packing the products will finally make the product saleable
