it is subjective question.
in the UAE, internet penetration is hitting 70.9% where in Asia is only 27.5% and in Europe 63.2% .
if you look at the Middle East over all, its 40.2%.
that means, in the UAE internet is very important and therefore online jobseekers are stronger base than those in the rest of the Middle east countries.
see the link below as its interesting details: http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats5.htm#me back to your question, In the UAE, Yes.
peoples seeking jobs do relay on the internet for the job hunt as its a working demand formula.
on the other side, if the UAE has recruiting agencies such as those in Europe where government regulate minimum wage and the right of workers etc in an advanced way, then face to face interviews is the best in securing jobs...

Nowadays internet is one of the most reliable things, but,we shouldn't forget that not everything on internet is true, thats why job seekers should take into consideration the internet but not rely on it, moreover they should get informed about a person cv on internet but invite him live to make sure that hes the appropriate person for the required position.

Yes! these days internet is the main source of getting information and communicating in any part of the world.
A job seeker first get the information and then communicate to share his/her data with employer.
Internet provide a complete solution of this process.
If we look on the job seekers side this process is good and acceptable.
But on other side usually employers are not as efficient, fast and active, because when they receive tons and tons of Resumes against any of their job posting on internet, they usually could not handle and sort out all the received stuff properly.
So what happens, they do not go through with all the data they receive and see only few of those and short list.
This increases a little frustration in job seekers when they do not receive responses against many of their applications.
Employers must be efficient and equipped with software tools which can help them sorting CVs on the basis of keywords and other filters, so they can cater maximum of received applications.
Only this could make the job seeking through internet more attractive and selectable.
I don't know if there are some tools offered here on bayt.com, but If not then I would suggest the developers at Bayt to make such tools for employers so they can have maximum out of your services, and the satisfaction of job seekers could also increase.

Yes I agree.
The internet provides the latest job vacancies, as well as it is the fastest intermediary between "job seekers" and employers.

yes, in this modern era of technological breakthroughs, internet is cosmopolitan and it has made the world smaller where access to everything is realized by a touch of a button thus giving opportunistic tendencies to millions of job seekers using it as a trend rather than a tool for "necessary" means to get employed.

In my opinion it really depends on a number of factors.
For the older, senior executive level, the internet is not the best place to start as often folks who are 50+ with bags of experience and qualificatons are generally competing with 35-42 year old candidates with probably similar qualifications but much less experience.
Ageism is a major problem in the job market here in the EU and to omit dates in CV's is regarded as deceitful.
For older, skilled candidates, networking is still the best solution.
So I agree the web based job search is better for some, but not in every case.

I believe the internet is the fastest way job seekers could look for their desired jobs.
It also makes it easier for employers to screen their applicants.
It is not time consuming.
