Usually there are no sales without client or customer service. Agree with Mr. Jetley. Just the unique, demanded and well known product doesn't need the service of customer (client). If there is no competitors in market. But the bad service could stop the sales even of such products

The word sales comes from a Scandinavian word meaning “to serve”.

Serving the needs of your customers should be the top priority in your business because service will generate the sale. 

The sale will never generate another sale without the service.

 

Any business from A to Z is about customer service. Sales and Customer services  departments are those who are serving the customers directly, but other departments in the company are also serving the customer, but from behind the scenes.
